Bubbles:

In our homeschool, we love using recipes in our studies. For our bubble study you will need the following:

  • Water (distilled water works best)
  • Baking Soda
  • Dishwashing Liquid
  • Sugar
  • Glycerin
  • Corn Syrup

I created recipe sheets and test sheets for our bubbles study.  We made different bubble solutions and then tested them against each other.

We spent the afternoon blowing bubbles! Who says learning can’t be fun? We used a timer to see which solution would last the longest.

After playing with a timer for a while…we created some art as a part of our study:

We added some food coloring to our bubbles and then used straws to make bubble art (put tiny holes by the top of the straw so littles don’t drink any bubble solution).

The kids made some surprise discoveries on their own.

Hands-on learning is always a blast. The boys learned how to use a timer, they practiced measurements, they learned the basics of the scientific method, and they got creative with painting.

Check out our other lessons on the letter B and let me know of any bubble activities you have tried in the comments!

Happy Homeschooling!
