Hundreds Board and Task Cards
Fidget toys are huge these days! Why not make them educational as well? They can learn while they play.
Play Money
Simple, but often overlooked, play money is a fantastic resource for kids with big imaginations!
Smart Games really has some phenomenal resources for homeschool families. This tangram set is perfect for warm-ups and morning baskets. There are multiple puzzles to solve. Even better, the set it magnetic so you can throw it in your purse for waiting rooms (easy to wipe clean) and car rides!
Magnetic Cuisenaire Rods
These are great for magnetic whiteboards (or refrigerators!) as you give students a visual reference for modeling numbers and operations. We are working with math labs like Miquon Math or with classroom programs like Mindset Mathematics.
NOT Just for Math
Blank Dice
How many games can you create if you have the right set of dice? Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, comparing numbers, making number sentences…the list goes on! When you have a blank set of dice, you can use them in all different subjects. ELA? Write words or sentences. Art class? Roll for color combinations! Really, one of the best investments in our homeschool just because of the multitude of applications that a set of dice and some dry erase markers make.
Transparent Counters
Another manipulative that is not just for math! We are now using these counters to play subtraction games, but the visual component of counters can add to lessons in many ways. Use them to highlight words, create color combinations, or to provide a visual reference for mathematical operations, the transparent counters can be used in many ways.
Magnetic Spinners
Make any class more interesting by adding a bit of luck! These magnetic spinners attach to your board where you can put problems you’re working on or use for life-size game boards.
Magnatab
Write out problems directly on the Magnatab in their morning baskets or give them challenge cards to complete. The Magnatab can be used during study for planning or problem solving (not to mention, it’s tons of fun!)
